This is a full day Welshot Progressive event specifically designed for photographers to concentrate on their own personal continued professional development and building a photographic portfolio.  We are delighted to have Natalie Ciufo Green join us here at the Creative Hub in Llandudno.  At this portfolio building session Natalie, who is a bit of a chameleon when it comes to fashion, will be sporting a number of different looks with at least five costume/outfit changes.  You will be learning how to work with your model, posing Natalie for your portraits and use your lighting to compliment your model which will give you the best possible composition for your photograph.  You will be using studio mains, and off camera flash lighting techniques in the studio itself as well as using the buildings features to capture your portrait photos for your portfolio.  If the weather is suitable we may also go outdoors for some funky, grungy and dynamic images.

Tonight at the Welshot portfolio building session we are excited to have Olga Solomakhina joining us at the Creative Hub in Llandudno.  At this Welshot Progressive event we are going to help you to see (and capture) your image in black & white.  Our model will be sporting a number of different looks with at least four costume/outfit changes.  You will be learning how to work with your model, posing Olga for your portraits and use your lighting to compliment your model which will give you the best possible composition for your photographs.

Tonight your Model, Darcie Binsley, will be helping you to unleash your creativity in the Welshot studio and outside on location in Llandudno.  Our theme for this evenings photographic session will be a nod to the 1960’s and 1970’s complete with props and studio sets.

Winter Fashion Portrait Photography – Off Camera Flash – Chester Photographic Academy Evening

Off Camera Flash lighting, portrait photography and working with models in and around the Chester Crowne Plaza.  That’s what our February Academy Evening is Chester is all about.  Our Models will be dressed in the latest of winter fashion and this is the perfect photography session for you to learn how to use your camera with off camera flash while making and creating some stunning portraits that you can be proud of.  Working outside (but undercover) on location as well as using some of the many features of the hotel – you will be able to make and create some stunning portraiture with a wide variety of backdrops.  Learn to throw your background out of focus, create bokeh and pose your models – we promise you, it won’t just be off camera flash you are learning, honing your skills or developing your portfolio.  We can also promise you that you will go home with images you can be proud of.

Fashion Photography – 1960’s Themed Photo-Shoot – Mains Studio & Off Camera Flash

1960’s Fashion – is there anything more iconic? At this fashion (1960’s) photography event based at the Chester Crowne Plaza we will be using mains studio flash as well as off camera flash lighting to help you make images that you can be proud of.  Your models will be wearing the flamboyant clothing that this era was known for – from bright, bold prints and make-up to high heeled boots and beehive hairstyles! Shooting in a studio environment as well as using the hotel as your backdrop you will be working in small groups with one to one shooting time with your models.  Backdrops, props and a wide range of clothing will all be supplied by Welshot.  All you have to do is charge your batteries, grab your camera and come make some great photos.

Piers & Portrait Photography – Llandudno & Colwyn Bay

It’s all about Piers & Portraits and off camera flash photography at this on location photo-shoot Welshot full day photo-shoot in Llandudno, North Wales. Our Model(s) will be wearing a wide range of fashion outfits and posing against the beautiful backdrop of the Llandudno Bay, otherwise known as the Queen of Resorts, specifically, the pier, the promenade and the colonnades.  Team Welshot will be helping you to create and make some great portrait images using off camera flash as well as using the available natural light. After a refreshment break, we will then move to Colwyn Bay to for the next session – capturing our portraits using the “Golden” and “Blue” hours before and after sunset.  From simple and elegant headshots on the pier and promenade, to dramatic and creative poses on the new Colwyn Bay Pier this event will be perfect for those who want to learn the techniques and skills required to capture some stunning portraits.  We even have a back-up plan if the weather isn’t playing ball!

Lighting Techniques for Studio Portraiture – Chester Photographic Academy Evening

This Lighting Techniques for Studio Portraiture – Chester Photographic Academy Evening event is for all photography enthusiasts who are wanting to learn about photographic lighting.  During the evenings workshop you will be using mains studio lights and off camera flash. Learning about lighting, and how it works, is the single most important skill to have when when it comes to your portrait photography. Working with our Welshot Models you will try you hand at Rembrandt, butterfly, side and split lighting.  You will be using grids, modifiers and getting creative, learning to see (and shoot) in black and white and working with coloured gels. This studio mains and off camera flash photography workshop will be taking place at The Chester Crowne Plaza.

Tonight it is all about being out on location, shooting with off camera flash and using walls, textures and other architectural features such as stairways as your backdrops.  Our model will be sporting a number of different looks with at least two costume/outfit changes.  You will be learning how to use off camera flash lighting techniques outside on location to capture your portrait photos for your portfolio.  From headshots to full body portraiture images.  We will probably get the gels out too!

From learning how to pose your model to the best lighting (types of) and modifiers to use to make the images you want to create. From using props, backgrounds, and gels to understanding the correct settings, camera functions, lenses, and focal lengths to use for portraiture and studio photography.
