Working with ethically sourced bugs, insects and critters, flowers and man-made objects will ensure you will still get an evening of photography regardless of the weather outside.
Creative Table-Top Photography – Chester Photographic Academy Evening
At this Welshot Photographic Academy Evening you will see that oil and water do mix! You will also see how water, bokeh, smoke from incense sticks, and using old Cd’s can make for some great photos. By learning how to make your own filters, create bokeh, and hone your flash techniques you will make and create water droplets which can make for stunning images or even artwork. From Macro (or Close-Up) to using different camera settings and depth of field can give you a wide variety of different looks which will not only make your photography stand out but will also help build your portfolio. Brilliant for stock images, or craft work if that’s your jam – learning the art of creative photography not only gets you thinking a little differently but it is also satisfying and almost mindfulness-like. It will also, undoubtedly, learning more about your camera and how to use it in more ways than one.

Macro photography (or close-up photography) is a photographic genre that some people struggle with but at our Full Day photographic event, based in the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno, Team Welshot will take you through step by step of everything you need to do to create some stunning macro photography images. At this event we will be working with a wide variety of flowers, using natural, ambient and artificial light, which will ensure you will still get a day of photography regardless of the weather outside. There will be ample opportunity for one to one tuition as well as in a small group setting (this event is limited to just 4 people) where you can collaborate with other delegates. With a whole day of photography ahead of you, there will be plenty of time to get creative, experiment and make some stunning images which you can be proud of.
Spring Nature Ramble – Photography at RSPB Conwy. Grab your camera and join us on our Nature Ramble – Photography at the RSPB Conwy Nature Reserve in North Wales, guaranteed to help ease out you of Winter and into Spring while capturing the beauty from what can only be described as a stunning environment. The Conwy RSPB nature reserve is a wetland on the Conwy estuary, created from material dug out during the construction of the A55 road tunnel. It is now home to a variety of wildlife, and a great place for photographers and their cameras. there is always something to see and photograph, from landscape to macro, flora and fauna and, of course, birds. Your Welshot Masterclass will be learning how to work with light and shutter speeds to capture stunning compositions and movement.

By integrating true scale objects, from food to every day items you can find around your home the idea is to build real scenes, that look almost realistic. By using your imagination you will soon see the potential for creating and making photos in miniature is inexhaustible. Your weekly food shop, or a child’s toy box will become a world of inspiration and an adventure. Ordinary household items and foods will now be a child’s playgrounds, or ramps and jumps for a miniature skatepark. The limit truly is your own imagination. As well as making creative images at this Academy Evening for your portfolio you will learn the art of macro and close-up photography, how using your cameras setting and functions can give your images a different look and feel and learn how to light your composition using light-boxes and light pads.
