This Welshot Photographic Academy adventure will start at the Old Harkers Arms, which will then, will take you and your camera on a gentle stroll alongside the Shropshire Union Canal that meanders through Cheshire. From learning how to use your camera in low-light conditions, taking long exposure photographs to shooting for HDR, this photographic workshop is guaranteed to provide you with the inspiration needed to capture some stunning and dramatic images. Long Exposure Photography
Were taking advantage of the ‘still early’ darker evenings and getting out and about with our cameras to capture the Anglesey coastline in extreme low-light conditions. At this Welshot Roving Academy Evening, based in Beaumaris, we will be shooting long exposures – from Gallows Point to the Pier itself. Shooting in low light can be challenging – Tonight you will be learning how to each element of the exposure triangle (ISO / Shutter / Aperture) to create your image. Understanding the exposure triangle is an important part of knowing how to use your camera, especially when shooting in low light. Learning how to use your shutter speeds and exposure times with the ambient (natural light) will help to create a variety of looks in your photographs. At this low-light and long exposure seascape photography workshop you will be capturing and creating unique and inspiring images to be proud of.

Meeting at the Chester Crowne Plaza we will be walking along part of the walls and towards the River Dee where we will capture the historical atmosphere of Chester. From low-light to long exposures, from wide landscapes (Cityscapes) to stunning details that you will only find in this Roman City – this photography workshop is going to have you and your camera looking for lead in lines, reflections, and details galore. You will be learning to ‘See’ images in Black & White and how to make the most of whatever the weather and light throws at us. From picture in puddles (if it rains) to long, creative exposures, which will have us capturing traffic trails. From wide Cityscape vistas to getting those detail shots – this event will have you going home with plenty of photographs secure on your memory card.
Anglesey Bridges at Night – Low-Light Photography – the September Welshot Roving Photographic Academy Evening is guaranteed to have you using your camera in low-light conditions and learning how to shoot long exposures. If architectural photography is your jam then this is the photographic workshop event for you. From Telford’s Menai Bridge to Robert Stephensons Britannia Bridge, which both connect the Island of Anglesey to the mainland of North Wales, these photogenetic structures will both delight and reward the photographer. Starting from the Coed Cyrnol Car Park, we will be walking along the Belgium Promenade, stopping at Llandysilio Island (otherwise known as Church Island) to capture the Britannia Bridge in all her splendour, before heading towards, and underneath, the magnificent Telford’s Bridge. As we walk up to, onto and over the Menai Bridge itself we will capture this historical structure from both sides and all angles in our cameras. If time permits, we can then make our way, by car, to the local lookout layby near to the A55 (and Britannia Bridge) so you can capture both bridges in all their glory as you head home from a wonderful evening of low-light, long exposure and architectural photography.
Astro & Night Photography – How to shoot the night sky. Join the Team Welshot for our second Astro photography workshop at Cwm Idwal in Snowdonia for an Evening of night photography. From low-light, long exposures to how to photograph the night sky this Welshot photographic event at Cwm Idwal in Snowdonia will keep you and your camera busy taking stunning images from before sunset to long after the sun has gone down. Fishing boats, sand dunes, seascapes, long exposures and low-light photography will be our focus on this learn your camera photography workshop session before moving along the waterfront to capture the architecture of Rhyl.
