Macro & Close-Up Floral Photography- Welshot Creative Hub

Macro photography (or close-up photography) is a photographic genre that some people struggle with but at our Full Day photographic event, based in the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno, Team Welshot will take you through step by step of everything you need to do to create some stunning macro photography images. At this event we will be working with a wide variety of flowers, using natural, ambient and artificial light, which will ensure you will still get a day of photography regardless of the weather outside.  There will be ample opportunity for one to one tuition as well as in a small group setting where you can collaborate with others.  With a whole day of photography ahead of you, there will be plenty of time to get creative, experiment and make some stunning images which you can be proud of.

There will also be an opportunity to review your images and get some help with post processing / editing of your images if you wish.

Piers and Promenades, this photographic adventure will have it all, from architecture to artistic angles, from North Shore to West Shore, this WelshotRewards Day for Members is the perfect day for those who like to be out and about with their camera capturing the beauty of the world around them.  Llandudno, Queen of the Resorts has it all for the photographer – historic piers, photogenic promenades lined on one side with a wide open expanse of the Llandudno North Shore, to the Victorian listed buildings that will provide you with the features of the colourful architecture. After photographing the pier and bay, we will then move to West Shore and there you will find rock pools and sandy beaches with a backdrop of the Welsh hills and Anglesey in distance – from which the sun will set behind, hopefully giving us a wonderful golden hour, a colourful sunset and magnificent light in what photographers call the blue hour.  If you want to set yourself a bit of a photographic challenge - we've got just the one for you!

Off Camera Flash lighting, portrait photography and working with models in and around the Chester Crowne Plaza.  That's what our February Academy Evening is Chester is all about.  Our Models will be dressed in the latest of winter fashion and this is the perfect photography session for you to learn how to use your camera with off camera flash while making and creating some stunning portraits that you can be proud of.  Working outside (but undercover) on location as well as using some of the many features of the hotel - you will be able to make and create some stunning portraiture with a wide variety of backdrops.  Learn to throw your background out of focus, create bokeh and pose your models - we promise you, it won't just be off camera flash you are learning, honing your skills or developing your portfolio.  We can also promise you that you will go home with images you can be proud of.

Tonight at this Welshot Progressive event we are excited to have Natalie Ciufo Green joining us at the Creative Hub in Llandudno.  At this portfolio building session Natalie, who is a bit of a chameleon when it comes to fashion, will be sporting a number of different looks with at least three costume/outfit changes.  You will be learning how to work with your model, posing Natalie for your portraits and use your lighting to compliment your model which will give you the best possible composition for your photograph.  You will be using studio mains, and off camera flash lighting techniques in the studio itself as well as using the buildings features to capture your portrait photos for your portfolio.  If the weather is suitable we may also go outdoors for some funky, grungy and dynamic images.

1960's Fashion - is there anything more iconic? At this fashion (1960's) photography event based at the Chester Crowne Plaza we will be using mains studio flash as well as off camera flash lighting to help you make images that you can be proud of.  Your models will be wearing the flamboyant clothing that this era was known for - from bright, bold prints and make-up to high heeled boots and beehive hairstyles! Shooting in a studio environment as well as using the hotel as your backdrop you will be working in small groups with one to one shooting time with your models.  Backdrops, props and a wide range of clothing will all be supplied by Welshot.  All you have to do is charge your batteries, grab your camera and come make some great photos.

Do you love still-life photography?  No room for the big studio set-ups or space to house those larger props? Then this event is going to be perfect for you!  The idea for this Welshot, Still-Life in Miniature event was born from a visit of some friends to Anglesey in North Wales - the weather was too bad for any of the nature photography they'd hoped for but they'd packed their car with all manner of props, backdrops, fabric and flowers - all of the miniature (think Dolls House) size. Once you've picked your props, it's time to learn how to style and compose your photo - from using natural light to continuous photographic lighting this is the perfect indoors table top photographic project.
