The Conwy RSPB nature reserve is a wetland on the Conwy estuary, created from material dug out during the construction of the A55 road tunnel. It is now home to a variety of wildlife, and a great place for photographers and their cameras. there is always something to see and photograph, from landscape to macro, flora and fauna and, of course, birds. Your Welshot Masterclass will be learning how to work with light and shutter speeds to capture stunning compositions and movement.

On this Walking with Your Camera - A Guided Walk in Conwy, Welshot Photographic Mini Module event you will be getting creative with your camera.  Starting on the Llandudno Junction side of the estuary we will be walking along the under-pass (making sure to capture the graffiti on the way) and up onto the Conwy Cob and into Town itself.  The Castle, Castle Town Walls, The Harbour and the historical buildings of this quaint Town offers both panoramic landscapes as well as seascapes - perfect for the photographer.  This photography workshop will especially  delight those who love architectural photography.  From learning how to shoot for HDR in the masterclass to capturing the 'Blue Hour' after the sun has set - this will be the perfect Afternoon to blow the cobwebs away.  Our walking with your camera events are designed to help you explore, experience and discover your local surroundings with your camera that you might ordinarily miss.  You will be able to enjoy the company, friendship and support of the Welshot community while learning and enjoying your passion for all things photography.  Over a hot chocolate or, maybe fish and chips, we can answer any technical questions that you may have from your day of capturing the memories in your camera.

Creative Photography - An Adventure in Llanberis - Mini Module with Masterclass

Spend a day with Welshot in Llanberis deep in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales getting creative with your camera.  From landscapes to architecture, from wide lake-side vistas to macro and close-up photography this Welshot mini module with masterclass will have you thinking outside the box and have you making photos that you might have otherwise walked past.  We will also show you how learning how to "see" in black & white can give you a completely different look and feel to your images.  Our starting point will be the Llanberis Slate Museum which is full to the brim of photo opportunities - your aim will be to capture the historic, times gone by, often emotive atmosphere of this historic environment. Your masterclass will be learning how to shoot for HDR (High Dynamic Range) using the interiors of the museum before the one-to-one and group tuition takes place.  After the museum we have the beautiful Lyn Padarn lakeside to explore, from quarries to castles, from lonely trees to mountain ranges.  This day of photography has it all for the photographer.

Nothing beats walking along a river bank with your camera in Autumn!  Join us in Betws Y Coed for an autumnal photography walk - from macro (and close-up) to mountain lakes and forests of colour, this Welshot Mini Module with Masterclass will have it all for the outdoor photographer.  This will be an easy, relaxed and fun stroll with lots of stops to concentrate on capturing the movement of the flowing River Conwy.  After we've captured the trees in all their golden glory, practised long exposures and shot all manner of details that can be found in rock formations we will head up to Plas Y Brenin - National Outdoor Centre to capture the sun going down behind Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon) from Llynnau Mymbyr.

Seascape Photography & Nature Ramble - Talacre Beach - North Wales

Point of Ayr Lighthouse is the northernmost point of mainland Wales.  It is situated immediately to the north of Talacre in Flintshire, at the mouth of the Dee estuary.  It is to the southwest of the Liverpool Bay Area of the Irish Sea.  This is our location for our Welshot Mini Module with Masterclass which will provide the photographer with a wide variety of shooting opportunities.  Starting with a short nature ramble through natural habitats and sand dunes we will make our way towards the shoreline where the dramatic Point of Ayr Lighthouse will be our backdrop.  From making long exposures, capturing a sunset to macro and close-up photography, the only limitation will be your imagination.
